I clutched my phone in my long fingers for a few seconds. And. Threw. It. Down.
I tore at my hair, flopped on my bed and hit my head against the wall many times.

My fiance was dead! My ‘Human Hero’ was gone. His sister said that he had gone to bed around two hours to midnight after watching an exhilarating football match. He had sent me an ‘I love you, my gorgeous’ message around 9:45pm. He had slept. He had died.
I was not sure if Demi would actually rest in perfect peace. I knew in my heart that he did not know Jesus. He attended church services. He was very generous. In fact, he was sponsoring the education of about ten kids from the slum where he grew up. Demi was sweet. His major fault was that he was easily swayed.
Demi never told me that he accepted the Lordship of Jesus. He was a good guy but he was not godly. He did not walk with God. I thought I could change him by getting into a relationship with him. I have since learnt that in this context, men don’t change men; God’s Spirit convicts men.

I can’t tell him to rest in perfect peace because I know that the only way to perfect peace, within and beyond this realm, is JESUS CHRIST, the Son of God. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus(1Timothy 2:5).

Telling my Demi to rest in perfect peace amounts to nothing because I have no say in his eternal destination. He had the chance to choose when he was here on earth and the chance expired when his body expired.

Friends, the ‘Demi’ incident is fictional but the rest of the content up there is true. You cannot rest in perfect peace if you never aligned your way with Jesus, the Way. When I die, hopefully, people would wish me RIP. However, their wishes have no influence on my rest.
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved.(Romans 10:19)
I have chosen Jesus. And choosing Jesus isn’t a religion; it is a relationship.
WHO HAVE YOU CHOSEN?
