It’s my salvation anniversary and I am celebrating how God changed my story. This poem gives an insight into how God changes life with the story of Rahab as an example.
Asake, my hand has picked its heartthrob
When the spies came to spy the land,
I was there.
I turned my waist like ‘okoto’
But they looked away,
I knew it wasn’t business as usual.
Ants stand no chance before giants
But my heart rang a bell,
I smelt the freedom I had always wanted.
Like the breaking of water,
I felt salvation calling me,
naming me like a newborn.
The scarlet thread was my grace
It could have been my end, Asake
But grace came ahead and named
me in history.
I am Rahab,
I was a whore
But now, I am redeemed
Grace found me.
