Happy New Month, Fam💃💃💃. It’s a blessed month already. April made sense. Our Book Crush today has been a bestseller on Okadabooks and Bambooks for some time. Sweet, right? Yeah. Come with me, let’s review After the Storm by Osar Adeyemi.
After reading the synopsis of this book, I decided to go through it on Bambooks and I didn’t regret it. It was an interesting ride.
The Story
Akeem met Yemi on one of her holidays in England and he was taken off his feet. It was almost like love at first sight. Yemi knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her from the very first moment.
Their love for each other grew and they got married loving each other but lack of acceptance from Akeem’s family was a big issue in their marriage.
You can imagine getting snubbed by your mother-in-law and the rest of your husband’s family?😒 It’s not even funny, that’s close to living in hell because they didn’t even hide their contempt.🤨
At first, I thought this enmity was going to be the end of their love story but it wasn’t. I love the twist in this story.
The storm came and the two love birds grew apart, they lost their 2nd baby and eventually, they were separated.
The sequence of events that followed shows that there is no one too big for God to handle, there is no breach too wide for God to mend.
Akeem who believed God doesn’t exist changed his mind at last and this made me remember what my Father usually say; “When an Atheist needs God, he will change his mind to believe He exists”.
The Themes
The themes range from Love, betrayal, pain, hatred, second chance and restoration.
THE REVIEW
I love the plot, the twist and the climax of this story. Reading this novel is similar to going on a journey with Yemi and Akeem. The author, Osar Adeyemi, made the story look so real.
THE LESSONS
When trust is broken, it is not easy to mend but it can be mended. It may not be easy but it is possible with God.
This novel is highly recommended for married couples facing issues in their marriage. There is indeed no situation too hard for God’s wisdom to handle.
Well, I had to keep late night till I finished reading this novel and guess what I did after that? I sent the author a review.😄 You should do that too after reading a good book.🤗
You can get your copy on Okadabooks and Bambooks.🥰
Happy Easter, Fam😍
May our lives show forth the glory of His resurrection.
