This is a question most people dread to answer in our world today. Left to some, they don’t mind the time standing still for them, so they can keep being eighteen, twenty, twenty five or thirty years in age. They never want to move to the next phase of life – which to them is full of challenges. They are always sad whenever they are reminded of their age whether directly in words or indirectly in retrospect of the exploits done by their counterparts in the world.
This could be no other reason than how they have been living their lives, probably because they have been doing nothing for God and humanity. They have not been relevant in time past neither are they ready to take the risk of living a life worthwhile.
I hope you are aware that God does not just want us to be religious alone. He has endowed us with so much gifts that he wants us to manifest and add relevance to our world – in science, technology, business, politics, amongst others. He wants you to do things that will bring glory to Him and edify His kingdom.
Psalm 90:12 says “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply out hearts unto wisdom”
A wise man will lay hold of time and make good use of it in his youthful days. He understands time and season – that he does not have the luxury of time to waste doing what will not please his creator, hence he releases himself to the leading of God and does exploits. He shakes and rocks his world with his God given talents.
Ecclesiastes 12:1-13 says “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; while the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened…Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
Whether you like it or not, each hour and day you spend here on earth gets you closer to your grave. Each step in life takes you farther from thy youthful age and strength. What will be your account on the last day when death your cherished breath it takes away from you? What will you tell your creator if your youthful strength you waste chasing the air having no account with God?
It is however never too late to start counting your days in respect to doing something worthwhile. God can still use you to change your world only if you are willing and ready for him.
How old are you? What have you been doing with your life? Are you a good influence in His kingdom here on earth? Get started today and make everyday of your life count. No one knows your limit yet for the sky will be too small to do so
