Happy new month and Happy Independence Day, Fam😍. Hope you are enjoying the day. We’ve got to celebrate our country even if it doesn’t look like it yet. God is working out something for us as a nation and we would live to see it. Amen😁. Yeah, today my book crush is a lovely story written by Karen Kingsbury-Someone Like You.
My interest was piqued when I learned that the storyline has something to do with Embryo Adoption. For some time now, I have been fascinated with Assisted Reproductive Technology and its possibilities so I decided to dig in and guess what? I had a good time.
The Story
A cutting-edge technology led to the birth of a baby that has been frozen for years. The truth was very difficult to reveal as Brooke and Peter never felt anytime was perfect enough. However, after a tragedy, the secret was revealed and the revelation shook the family badly. Did the family survive this? You will have to find out. I don’t want to give out too many spoilers.😂
MY THOUGHT
In her usual way of keeping her readers glued to her books, Karen Kingsbury did it again. I enjoyed every bit of the story.
The themes include Family, Forgiveness, Love, Loss and healing.
THE LESSONS
There are so many things to learn in this novel. Here are some of them:
👉God is not against science. Science is just a discovery of what God has made possible.
👉Secrecy can hurt you and your loved ones. There may never be a perfect time to let out a secret but it is better to disclose it when it is time. Follow God’s wisdom and timing.
👉Family is not necessarily biological. God works in mysterious ways.
👉Just like London, everyone needs Jesus
👉Forgiving was very hard on Maddie West but having a friend who values God’s word helped her through the process. We all need someone.
I could go on and on.
This book is highly recommended for people who have been hurt by their loved ones, people who need to forgive others and people who would love good fiction. I got my copy on Scribd. If you aren’t on Scribd, you may want to subscribe right away with the free trial. You can do that here.
Have an amazing weekend, dear reader. Watch out for ‘Another Chance to Love You’ tomorrow.😍
